I am a writer and like to write articles on women issues. Besides that I am a relationship manager in a leading BPO.
Everyone agrees that workplace discrimination has no place in the modern business world. But not everyone understands the laws that protect employees against discrimination. Discrimination at work is a matter of serious concern for organizations all over the world. Differentiating people on basis of certain characteristics like age and gender or on grounds such as race and religion is discrimination. Gender discrimination is unequal and unfair handling based on a person's gender or sex.
Women
are the one who suffer; it is harder sometimes for women in comparison with
man, to find a good job. Moreover, if they get a good one people try to take
advantage of them & women are getting less salary as compare to men.
Preventing Gender Discrimination
at Work
While the law and the courts already have taken a hard stand against gender discrimination and provide protection under the law for victims of it, employers can also take steps to prevent it:
1. Clearly communicate Gender Discrimination will not be tolerated
2. Provide training on what constitutes Gender Discrimination to employees
3. Establish an effective grievance or complaint process
4. Take immediate, effective action whenever such a case occurs
Many women organizations are doing their best to bring women rights and empowerment. I came to known one job portal http://naukriforwomen.com which is totally dedicated to female job aspirants. http://naukriforwomen.com aims to help women build their careers, without compromising their other responsibilities. This is a good initiative to reduce the disparity between the sexes in work environments & to bring the women empowerment.
